Queen Victoria Plaque, The Parade

The Queen Victoria Plaque prior to refurbishment:

Background to the Project

It was brought to the Town Council’s attention in December 2008 that the Queen Victoria Plaque on the Parade, although refurbished a few years previously, was suffering the effects of severe weathering and contained some inaccuracies from the original.

Completion of the Project

The Town Council agreed to have the plaque replaced in vitreous enamel, utilising the print style on the existing plaque and, have it mounted on a varnished mahogany backing board to cover the damaged stonework surround. The inaccuracies were also corrected. This was completed in the summer of 2009.
